BUCKEYE'S
PATENTED LIQUESCENT
CHEMISTRY |
The
word “ Liquescent” is used by Buckeye to
describe its patented, cleaner/degreaser
chemistry.
Liquescent, as defined by Webster’s
II New Riverside University Dictionary,
means: “Becoming or tending to become
liquid” a definition that clearly
describes how this new chemistry works in
products. |
Liquescent
was developed from research conducted by Dr.
Don Van Eenam, Buckeye Research Chemist.
In his efforts to create products
without 2-butoxy-ethanol, Dr. Van Eenam made
experimental formulations with raw materials
not traditionally used in the industry. |
During
the process Dr. Van Eenam observed, for the
first time, water-based products removing
inks and greases like pure solvent-based
products.
Further investigation led to the
complete understanding of how to produce
various formulas that give these exceptional
results each time. |
Currently
Buckeye holds Liquescent patents in the
United States, Taiwan, Canada and Europe.
Additional patents are pending in
these and other countries. |
The
patents disclose that certain sparingly
water soluble chemicals, when blended in a
certain manner, will give what Buckeye calls
the Liquescent effect-basically, all the
ingredients in a Liquescent product act as
though they were present in pure form,
giving their maximum benefit to the cleaning
task. |
With
this new chemistry, Buckeye is able to
produce products that are safer for the
worker and the environment.
Eliminating ethylene-based glycol
ethers and other regulated chemicals from
Buckeye cleaners, mean they no longer
contain chemicals that are on the U.S.
E.P.A.’s Hazardous Air Pollutants
list. |
Most
Liquescent formulas contain no or very low
amounts of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)
and contain NO ODCs (Ozone Depleting
Compounds). |
Liquescents
products have allowed customers to replace
solvents, such as petroleum, ketones,
alcohols, d-limonene and high caustic
cleaners, with a safer and more effective
cleaner. Most of Buckeye’s cleaner/degreaser formulas have all
zero's (0) on the NFPA ratings (National
Fire Protection Association) which means
that, when used properly, they are some of
the safest products on the market. |
