FINISHING

Hard floors, such as vinyl tile and stone floor, must be protected with floor finish. Four coats of a quality finish will protect the floor from wear, make cleaning easier and provide slip resistance. A finished floor takes less time and effort to maintain; and a finished floor looks great.

SUPPLIES :

Clean Rayon Mop

Wringer

Lined Mop Bucket

PROCEDURES :


1.	Steadily fill the bucket with floor finish.

2.	Place the saturated mop in the wringer and press down. Do not wring the mop. When removing the mop from the wringer you should see a few drops of finish dripping from the mop. This is how you know the there is enough finish on the mop for the application of a full coat.

3.	Outline the area and fill it is with a figure-8 to apply a full and uniform coat of finish. A coat of finish takes about 30 minutes to dry. Actual drying time is affected by humidity, temperature and air flow. Check the floor with the back of your hand. If it's not completely dry, wait 10 more minutes and check again.

4.	Apply the second coat only when the first coat is completely dry. Repeat steps 1 - 3 for all four coats.

5.	Once the floor is finished, keeping it clean is simple as long as the finish remains protected.
