Its symptoms are high fever usually greater than 100.4°F (38.0°C), along with chills, headache, general discomfort and body aches. It not only can be transmitted by air but also from objects that have become contaminated with the virus. Coronaviruses can survive in the environment for up to three hours. When around people infected with SARS, medical personnel or family members should use universal precautions and good personal hygiene practices.
